I was invited by a friend of mine that works at Kennesaw State University to do a small workshop on building characters for animation in vector, and in this case we used Adobe Illustrator. I wanted to teach the students how to approach building a humanoid character, how to break up the different body parts, and how they should be set up for animation purposes.
I had a lot of fun designing this character, and building it out to show how to make a character build in vector from a sketch --> photoshop concept --> vector build

These are the final vector builds, one showing the character and one showing how the pieces are broken up for animation.

These are my sketches and final concept paint, done in Photoshop.
